My older daughter did when we cloth diapered- that's why we stopped. Younger daughter hasn't yet at almost three months, so I'm knocking on wood with you guys for her!

Yep, Wagon Jr. got them all the time. His skin is pretty sensitive, I think. Plus he pooped like four times a day and it was always either soft or diarrhea. When they have diarrhea and they get a diaper rash, you can't get rid of the rash... all you can do is maintain it until the diarrhea goes away. Doesn't help when the diarrhea is constant for weeks and weeks at a time. (Never figured out what was causing the diarrhea... google "toddler's diarrhea" if you want to be frustrated.) We spent hundreds of $$ in triple paste.

@Mrs. Bee: No. I am really pro-active if I see a little bit of redness. I use a product made locally similar to Angel Baby Bottom Balm any day that I see the red, and I would do the diaper-free if it didn't clear too (but we're still EBF so I think it's easier to not have diaper rash before solids start).

Not yet. Her bum will get a bit red, but it will be gone the next day after applying some cream.

@Mrs. Bee: how long do you have them go diaper free?

Yes. =( She got a wicked yeast rash when she was a week old from the antibiotics she had at birth (I had a temp from taking a very warm bath so it was protocol). It took almost 2 months to get rid of completely! Then we dealt with diaper rash due to food intolerances... She's still prone to rashes so we use a homemade diaper cream any time she gets a little red.

Yup, when she was a few weeks old. We promptly used Desitin and switched to using cloth wipes. She hasn't had one since. Now at daycare they use diaper cream at each changing but when I change her at home I only use it after a soiled diaper.

Yes. She had it when she was about 6 weeks and it got a little yeasty so we had to do more than diaper rash cream. She hasn't had it since but we also over apply diaper rash cream now!

I'll say no. some days she will get dime size patch of little bumps on her butt but then they will be gone the next day after I put some earth mama bottle balm on it. so I dont know if that qualifies as a rash

Luckily neither Charlie nor Olive have knock on wood!

Sometimes their little bootys gets a little red. I don't typically use diaper cream but when it gets a little red, I put on a little diaper cream and let them go diaper free and that always does the trick.
