Pretty much the past year and a half ... things are finally turning around (fingers crossed!), but any confidence I had as a parent has been completely shattered by my oldest.

DD smacked me in the face about 6 times on Saturday while I was laying down and told her I had a tummy ache...she was laughing the whole time...I started crying...such a fail...

He complained that Trick or Treating was "taking too long" yesterday... so glad I woke up early on a Sunday to do something fun with my son, I'm such a bad mom

Yes! Like when he fell down our concrete stairs last night even though I was holding hand (don't ask). I must have heard "I hurt, mama!!" a thousand times last night!

Of course. I think it's a rite of passage and/or just part of being a toddler :silly:

All the time. But that's because I really am a crummy parent. I could write a novel about the reasons why :silly: Thankfully my kids have a lot of good people in their lives, so I hope they'll turn out ok.

Evan's class has been working on verbally expressing emotions, so I get "Mommy, you made me sad" A LOT lately...usually for small things like making him put his toys away or turning off a light, but when he's whispering it to me in a small, sad voice right before bed it breaks my heart.

@mediagirl: My daughter likes to tell me at bedtime, "I'm still hungry!!" Even when she's had a huge dinner and I know she can't possibly be hungry... when she hasn't had a big dinner though, I feel bad too!

Last night I sat my lo down to eat her dinner. DH came home and we started a fire in the firepit for s'mores. We all went outside and had a treat. We came back in to get ready for bed and my lo said, "Mommy, I'm still hungry, where's my dinner? You said it was treat time before I was finished so I'm still hungry."

Oh great, thanks for making me feel like a jerk for rushing you through your dinner!!
