We just started using the nebulizer on our LO. I didn't know anything was wrong because LO is always so happy and never has a fever. At our 6 month appointment the doctor gave us one to use for a few days. It makes me sad he isn't feeling well.

LO has RSV right now and received nebulizer treatment at the pedi office. It seemed to help the chest congestion a little. But he hated it and we could not keep the mask on his face so they didn't end up sending it home with us.

Yes LO has used one since 9 weeks. He started getting super congested right as I went back to work and daycare had a confirmed case of rsv. It does help break up the snot I can't get to and all the crackling in his chest. We do it 3x a day.

We got one but it helped with the inflammation and irritation in her chest not the congestion it's a steroid so it won't help with the actual mucus.

@autumnlove: yes, we got one when LO was around six months or so. We got the first treatment in the office and have done about ten more in the past year. lots of crying but it helped immensely. It takes about ten or fifteen mins before the effects kick in. We do it only if necessary. As time goes on, we do the treatments less often and she takes it better. She is almost two now. Also I found a humidifier made cold symptoms much worse so I advise staying away from those. Also, turning on the tv during treatments helped a bit so she could be distracted...

My LO is so congested (for almost a month) and seems to have trouble breathing. I can feel and hear the crackling congestion when I hold her :-(. She was given an prescription of albuterol but doesn't seem to help at all. We are going to try to take her to the Dr. tomorrow or Monday.

I've been googling (I know I shouldn't) and it seems like some babies need nebulizer treatment to help with breathing. Has you LO ever used a nebulizer? Did it help? Was it a treatment at the Dr's office or something you can use at home?
