I began looking for a part time job when I had my son but did not find the right one until he was 18 months. Currently 19 weeks pregnant with LO2 and I'll keep the same job, schedule, and hours upon returning.

I was unemployed when I had N, then went back to work at 7 months pp. A few months later started WFH 2x a week at the new company. When J was born, I came back from maternity leave at 10 weeks bc my boss said I could WFH full-time. I was able to WFH full-time for that entire year, which allowed me to work while spend time with J in-between meetings (MIL was watching him at home), and breastfeed for a whole year. Now I go into the office 1-2x a week.

LO1 was in daycare 3x week and with grandparents 2x. I worked every day, but only about 32 hours/week.

Now after LO2, there are literally NO daycares that take infants in our area. LO1 is in preschool full time and LO2 can probably be cared for by grandparents 3x week so I'll find some sort of part time situation.

@autumnlove: We've kept the kids in daycare/preschool/pre-K ever since we had a nanny. There are a number of days we have to watch them ourselves though... I didn't realize there were so many days off in the school calendar!

Yes. When D was born I quit my full time job to be a SAHM. After being home with M for a year, I'm back to full time work. I got burned out on being a SAHM.

Yep, but in a different way. When DS1 was born, I quit my full time job to be a SAHM. Around the time DS2 was born I really started to feel down about my SAHM status and missed working, but not my old job. So when he was a few months old the boys started daycare so that I could go back to school. And if we have a third it will be around the time I graduate, at which point I will be working full time again.

I worked from home 3 days a week and commuted 2 days after I returned to work after LO 1 was born. I have been working from home FT since my maternity leave ended with LO 2. I want to do the same thing after LO 3 but I probably have to switch back to 2 or 1 days in the office.

LO 1 and 2 started daycare around 4 or 5 months but my MIL is going to watch LO 3 for about a year before she starts daycare. (I am very nervous about this since my MIL does whatever she wants but saving on daycare is definitely a perk!) My husband has days off during the week and he usually watches the kids on Monday and Tuesday.
