I love the 4th of July and my family sets off fireworks every year, so I don't mind them on the actual 4th, but I don't understand the need to set them off at other times... People are idiots. They're prepping for Friday, when instead of just being idiots, they'll become full-fledged @ssholes. It's illegal to set them off in the city, but you can buy really powerful fireworks on reservations near here, so they're easy to get. The police can't catch the random ones and don't have enough manpower to patrol everywhere on the 4th...last year, our local firehouse sent out trucks to warn anyone they could catch, but they couldn't really do anything to people.
