It was a string of bad timing with colds and out of stock vaccines that kept delaying and delaying her appointments to get it. DH and I got ours at our Publix pharmacy - no cost or copay and two $10 gift cards for us.</p> <p>My only issue is that I 100% thought that they would be able to vaccinate LO (who is 5) with us since I didn't see restrictions on their website and the form didn't have restrictions. So we went through this whole thing about her getting it with us, etc. etc. and then she was ready and we show up and they don't vaccinate under 18 at pharmacies in FL. So a little bit of a fail on my part there since I felt like I stressed her (and all of us) out unnecessarily.</p> <p>She was set to go last week to her ped. office but then got sick so we rescheduled for next week for her first dose. We always do. Last year our 7.5 month old came down with influenza and it was super scary. Luckily she had been given both doses of the flu vaccine, so her version ended up being pretty mild. Our doctor told us the kids she saw that were really sick were almost always the ones who hadn’t been vaccinated. The ones who had received the vaccine and still ended up sick had a mild case. That held true for us. It's non negotiable. We are around a lot of elderly and young babies. We want to do our part to be good members of the herd.
