We went years ago to the one in FL when I was 6 or 7 and I LOVED it. Don't remember much of it but I know I had fun.

If you go, see if they have the lunch with an astronaut. My son thought it was the best thing ever.

I second @MountainBaby:. I grew up there and Space Center Houston was built when I was a teenager. I went then and again a few years ago as an adult. The tram tour is the only way to get onto Johnson Space Center and see Mission Control and some of the training aspects for the astronauts. It is definitely more appropriate for older children.

This link isn’t very official, but describes how to get there: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g56003-d669494-r490417729-Space_Center_Houston-Houston_Texas.html

I didn’t find I had to pay for anything extra once inside SCH, just food and gift shop, but I also didn’t look into the simulators which may or may not be extra. There is plenty to do without them.

I used to live near space center Houston and so went a bunch. I like it for adults and older kids (maybe 7 and over?) but there wasn’t much for little kids, especially toddlers. If you do go, make sure you don’t miss the tram tour! That’s what takes you to see either mission control or the prototypes and the Saturn V rocket. If you just want a small taste, it’s a little known fact that you can see just the Saturn V for free. I’ll see if I can find a link describing that.

The last 2 times we went to Orlando when LO was 6 and then again at 7 and I just went back and forth a bunch on whether or not we should got to Kennedy or not. We decided not but I am still curious and want to go one day in the future. I would go if I was in Houston only because there is nothing else competing for my attention and we went to some awesome Kid Museums in a lot of different places.

We will be in Houston and are thinking of going to see the NASA Johnson space center. Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for kids so for us thday ads up to $85. I have always wanted to visit But the reviews online seem really mixed and it seems that we would have to pay extra for most things once we arrive.
If you have been, do you recommend it? Or should wet just do a kids museum instead
