I scratch LO's back when she's snuggly and sleepy. My mom did that to me.

My family used to sing the chorus of "A Bushel & a Peck" by Doris Day to me when I was little. I sing the song to DS now and he giggles when he hears it. It's so sweet!

My grandparents always said this little goodnight to my father and my parents said it to me right up until I moved out! I say it to my LO every night. "Good night, God Bless, Sweet Dreams, I'll see you in the morning, I love you."

LoL! We don't have any sweet traditions that I can think of, my parents were never really affectionate. Does Thanksgiving or Xmas in Las Vegas count? Because we'll probably have to keep up with their tradition of that at least every other year!
one thing I remember very fondly were stops at McDonald's after grocery shopping w/my mom. Sometimes we could stop and get a hot fudge sundae. I'll probably do that sometimes too.

My family did a big pancake breakfast every Saturday morning, so I'm hoping to continue that. Since my mom has been with us she does it for us!!

I've been trying to figure out traditions I want to implement for my own family, and there are a couple that we've started... one is coming up for Christmas: open one present on Christmas Eve, then on Christmas morning open presents all together with hot chocolate, juice, and homemade sticky buns. I tried to incorporate bacon last year and I discovered that I hate cooking bacon.

DH and I are all about continuing family rituals/traditions. DH loves to do this thing to LO called x marks the spot, both of his grandparents did it to his parents (which is weird because I don't feel like it's a common thing and they both grew up doing it) and his parents did it to him, and now he does it to LO. It goes,

LO loves it though, you draw on her back with your finger while saying a little rhyme, she cracks up!

That is so sweet. My dad used to play The Beatles Birthday Song every year for us on our birthday first thing in the morning and I think we're going to keep that going for our little ones.

My dad would always give me some luck before my piano competitions by rubbing my back and wishing me good luck.

Now whenever Charlie does something that requires luck, I rub his back just like my dad did. He doesn't even notice right now, but maybe someday he'll rub his son's back in the same way. :)
