Spooky weird, y'all. Spooky. I have gotten the exact same results every time (three times in a row) and all were accurate through the children we have right now. I never heard of this "method" of testing gender, and I know it's just for fun, but I'm a tiny bit creeped out/facinated by it, too. I have a brain of a 3 years old toddler, I don't think before I talk, what in my head come straight out.. so we got into the topic of old wives tales regarding baby gender, and she told me about the "Thread and Needle" (she sew, she have sewing machine at home). I dunno, maybe she look at sewing machine threads/needles and remember it and told me. I didn't know anything this old wives tale until she told me. The "Thread and Needle" test, it predicts how many pregnancies/chidlren you will have or already have, baby(ies) gendder, and the order you have them. You thread a string through a sewing needle, wait till the needle hang still. Hold your other hand palm (face up), and hold the needle/thread like an inch above your (palm) hand. Make sure the needle and string stay still, keep both hands very still.. The needle will start moving by itself. If it swing side to side in straight line it a Boy. If it swing in a circle it a Girl. .......... She said to her it was accurate (on her children gender and the order of her children). She do it to her as an example show me, and it was accurate in her case. And she told me to try it. I tried it, got a result. I didn't think much about result, I thought it just something for fun. After hanging out with her, I drove home, and just not thinking much about the result. -------------------------------------- At home I was like um, let try it again see if I get the same result as when I was at her house. So I got my needle and thread. Do exactly as the instruction she told me. And I got the same result. The needle started swing like blatantly in a straight line (means it a boy), it continue swing in a straight line, in the same speed. Then it stop, like stop and the needle center itseft and then starting to swing again (kindda scary, because I can see the needle stop and center itself before starting again). Then it start swing in circle (means it a girl), and continue swing in circle, same speed. Then it completely stop. I continue hold and hold it but it just stop moving. .......... My friend said in between each babies it will stop and then swing again. If there more than one pregnancy, after it gone through all the children it will completely stop moving. Well, If this old wives tale is accurate; that means my first pregnancy will be a boy. And then second pregnancy, will be a girl. okay, so I was like Nahhh (despite I get the same exact result like when I was at her house). So I think it must be the heat that coming off from my hand, so I went to wash my hand and try again. And I still get the same exact result. I'm stubborn, so I said to myself Nope. It must be something wrong with the needle and thread. So I went to get another needle to use, and different thread string.. I tried again, and I still got the same result. I still said Nope. So I tried it in the living room. Then I tried it in the bathroom, then out to the kitchen, I still got the same exact result. everytime I tried; in between swing, I can see the needle stop moving center itself and then move again. First it go and go in straight line (boy ). Then it stop moving and then the needle center itself and then started moving again, but then in circle (girl ). And then it stop completely. Anyways, that day I waited till the evening/night time tried again. I went to the other bedroom (we live in a 2 bedroom/2 bathoom apartment). I still got the exact same result, despite I tried it in different rooms and time. So I tried 1 time at my friend house. Then home in the master bedroom, then I went to living room, then bathroom. Then back out to my kitchen. I washed my hand. As well as change the needle and thread string. Then later I tried in the other bedroom, and then in the other bathroom. So that were 7 times I tried, and it give me the same exact result everytime. kindda creepy. .......... And the next day I tried again one more time, and I still got that same result. So 8 times total, same result every time. Well, I stop. I haven't try again eversince (that was couple weeks ago). At the time, I was thinking of wait till my husband gets home from work, and try it in front of him. But then he gonna think I'm going to give him his baby wish, he going to get his hope up for nothing. My husband he really want a baby to complete our little family. He would be THRILLED if I got pregnant while on the pills. Even if it just an Oops baby, he still would be sooo happy. He been waiting patiencely for me to give him a baby. It just right now I'm not ready yet. I need to work on my emotional childhood baggage first before I bring a baby to this world.. He wants more than one. He said he take as many baby as his 'wife' can give him, Lol.. But I said No, one baby only. When we got married I told him I promise to give him a baby, but just one baby. But he said two, he wants two, a girl first and then a boy. .......... Welp, If this "Thread and Needle" test is accurate, then he would be very very happy. he'll have two babies like he wants, but the order is boy first and then girl, lol I hope it not accurate because I can't picture myself with 2 kids. Me I'm like a 3 years old toddler; it gonna be a toddler chase after a newborn baby, two babies. just think about it already give me anxiety. lol ----------------------------------------------------------- oh, I posted this "Thread and Needle" test on another baby board that I'm on. And there a poster in there told me about the "Hair and Ring" test (like what you post here in your thread, same exact procedure). Well, I never heard about the 'Hair and Ring' test before so I tried it. With my 18-karat yellow gold wedding band bought at Chinatown, lol. And a strand of my long layer hair, went brush my hair and got it from the brush. And I got the same exact result as the 'Thread and Needle' test. .......... It the exact same result. first it still a boy. Then second it still a girl. Then third it completely stop, the ring just stop won't move anymore. I tried that 'hair and wedding band' in the bedroom and ten minutes later I went to the sofa in my living and tried again, still same result. This is the same result that I got in the 8 times I try with the 'Needle and thread'.. one time at my friend house. seven times at my house, with wash my hand, with different needles and threads. in different places in my house, and in different time. Same exact result in all tries. Kindda scary isn't it? The same exact result in Both the 'Thread and Needle' test And the 'Hair and Ring' test.
