Nope. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to be. I didn't want to see a mirror for my own birth, so I couldn't imagine seeing someone else go through it. Although I wouldn't mind if LO wanted me in the room when she grows up of course.

When I was 18, with my younger stepsister. It was a pretty intense labor and delivery...her BP dropped to 55/28 at one point, and then they had to turn off her epidural drip because she couldn't feel herself pushing...then the baby was in the birth canal for almost half an hour, came out blue, and it took them several minutes to get her to breath.

Not to mention, the wicked tear she got, straight from one hole to the other...even after an episiotomy. I was beyond vigilant about birth control for years after that.

yep, I was in the room when my best friends seocnd little girl was born-right front and center watching it all. I wasnt pregnant and didnt have any kids at the time. It was life-altering and incredible and beautiful, but still didnt make me sway on my c-sec choice lol

My best friend asked me to be in the room with her when she delivered. Unfortunately she miscarried. But when she does have a baby I will be there.

yes I have! I was there with my best friend when she delivered her baby girl. She had a home birth, so I was there with her husband, midwife, and 3 other assistants. It was wonderful!! Home birth isn't for me, but it was awesome to see how it worked perfectly for her!

My friend's twin sister recently had a baby and she was in the delivery room (along with her sister's DH and their mom) to witness the birth.

Have you been a support person for a friend or family member?
