I was absolutely mortified. I didn't have a pooch at all! Annnnd another time about 2 weeks ago..by my coworker. I was wearing a maxi skirt and a flowy top tucked into it. I was 20 and working FT as a lead in retail, and as I was ringing up one lady's purchase she exclaimed, "awww you're pregnant! So cute!" I just quietly responded that I'm not pregnant and she tried to recover by saying, "that's a really nice shirt." I wasn't even overweight, I had the tiniest little belly pooch. Ugh. And then at 4 weeks post partum I was asked when I was due. Total confidence killer. The worst was I used to get asked, even when I was very thin. I think it was the type of sundresses that I wore, but hey, that was the style! One student's mom ran up to another, rubbed her stomach, and said "OMG you look amazing! How far along are you? What a cute bump!" The woman was definitely NOT pregnant. Holy embarrassing. I do have to say, though, that that particular mom consistently looked about 5-months pregnant even though she wasn't. Still. I follow the policy of never 'assuming' because you just don't know! Sadly I am almost 3 years postpartum and my son thinks I have a baby in there! Has that ever happened to you?
