The shower was the first time meeting the moms to be. It wasn't super awkward since I knew him and the some of the people there. My husband's family is huge and many of the women at my baby shower I had met once or not at all until that day. However, they all knew my husband and my MIL is a big support person in the family. My MIL insisted on inviting every woman on her side who was invited to the wedding. So my husband's grandfather's best friend's wife got invited to my shower. She called my maid of honor and said she thinks the invite was a mistake because she didn't know who the bride is. I was mortified. I barely knew her. Like, had hung out with her MAYBE 3 times. I went anyway because my husband wanted to hang out with his friend.</p> <p>I also got invited to a first birthday party for a baby who I had donated breastmilk to. The mom and I had connected on one of the local facebook donation sites, I gave her a cooler full of breastmilk, and then we never spoke again. I was SO confused when I got the invitation, but finally figured it out. I shouldn't really say it was a first birthday, but rather a celebration that the baby had made it a year, because she had been so sick they didn't think she would.
