It was not particularly enjoyable (stressful, expensive and my ILs didn't even seem like they had much fun)... BIL was recently asking where we should go next on our family vacation, and I just changed the subject! Now a days? It was awesome! Granted, my MIL is fabulous, but the ship was big enough and with so many daily activities that we didn't have to do everything together. We usually had dinner together, but before and after dinner we did our own stuff. We're actually leaving for a big family beach vacation next week with all of DH's family. We're renting a big condo...my MIL promises we'll all have our own room/bathroom this year! (Last year her, FIL, her sister and her BIL all slept on the living room floor, and I think there were 4 bathrooms for 15 people. We travelled to Scotland last summer when I was pregnant (DH, MIL, FIL and me) for about a week. Had a blast, but we all get along really well and they are super fun to hang out with and travel with. Also took a cruise with my DH's WHOLE family (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparets) and that was fun too. I would love to do that though, I've been wanting to take a cruise with family and my mom's not really into cruises but DH's parents love it. They're great at respecting our boundaries so I wouldn't be worried about that, and DH could get some time together while they watched LO.</p> <p>DH has taken quite a few vacations with my parents :)</p> <p>@grizz: DH would never go for that.
