I wore a 32D before pregnancy and when I got fitted at Nordstrom, they told me I was a 30DD. WHHAAA???? It's like, IMPOSSIBLE to find bras in that size. And I wasn't even that thin, so I don't get how they got 30. Needless to say, I kept wearing a 32D and they felt fine.

I just got fitted the day before yesterday at a Maidenform store for my post partum/pregnant boobs, and they said in between 36DD and 36E. UGH. I hate big boobs.

Yes a couple different times, sometimes I believe them and sometimes I don't! I'm in VS biggest cup size (DDD) so I'm thinking it's time to find a new brand that is a little more accommodating to a full chested woman. I don't even feel like mine are that big even though I"m in a size 34-36DDD so I have to believe there are other women out there with my issues or VS would start adding bigger cups!

Yes I did because I was living abroad and didn't understand the sizing. So I went to a boutique in town and got fitted.

What I loved was that they brought me a ton of stuff to try, once I specified what I wanted.

@blackbird: Nordstrom's fit me, and I was super bummed at my size originally. But then I realize, most women actually don't wear the smaller sized cups that they think they do. It's a much better idea to wear a ginormous cup size and feel fabulous. It wins EVERY. TIME.

Yes, I've been fitted at Nordstroms a couple times and they do a great job. I found it helpful if I've gained or lost weight. They were really knowledgable about different styles and will totally do it again. Bras are expensive, wanna make sure they fit right! not sure what I'll do now I'm KU, but maybe after I'm done bf

I did postpartum and they told me I should be wearing a 32e. I tried several on and found the band way too tight so I just ordered some 34d's and am happy with them although I do feel like my boobs sometimes don't fit exactly right in it.

@zippylef: I've never been professionally fitted, but if the reddit you're talking about is ABraThatFits, it's totally amazing. (I can't see the link. say's it can't be found?)

I measured myself using the ABraThatFits method, then went and picked myself up relatively cheap (bendon brand, not sure if you guys have them over there) 34DD bras (from wearing a 36C that was slightly too big) that are aMAYzing. the most comfortable i've ever been in a bra :)

I did before our wedding and it was awesome. I was wearing a 34a and was moved to a 30d. Since 30d is super rare in commercial shops my sister size is 32c.

I *just* got fitted last weekend at Nordstroms and almost cried. Apparently I'm a 36G. I'm in a Chantelle memory foam t-shirt bra right now. And it is insanely comfortable. But my sports bra size is a 38DD

You know this, but I just did and it is THE BEST.

I used to also go with a larger band/smaller cup size (note: was told that the cup size on a 34DD is the same as a 36D is the same as a 38C, etc). But they put me in a 34F!!! AHHHHH.

But it was a fabulous experience, and resulted in the most expensive, most wonderful feeling bra in the world!

Do I regret it? Nope! Would I do it again? Heck yes!

I've got fitted once before, and like @mrs. bird: mentioned, they had me go down a band and up a cup size. It was super tight and not comfy at all! And while I know what size I am, every brand fits differently so I still try them on.

@mrs. bird: @Espion: Oh, I definitely know that. The place Im going doesnt measure. They look at the bra you're wearing, explain how and why it's fitting/not fitting and then go from there. They specialize in D-HH cup bras. I tried on a 34E today for laughs and was surprised to find myself spilling out of it. It was a bad cut for my ladies though.

I've gone to a couple speciality bra shops and was "fitted" by the gals there. I was wearing a 34DD at the time they fitted me for a 30G (28FF for some other bras)... BIG difference. My straps weren't falling down, I wasn't stuffing my girls back into the cups, etc. It was amazing. Up to a 32H now with my weight gain  , but hoping when I lose it, I'll be back to my old bras.

@mrs. bird: I didn't like the band being tight either, but the girls explained to me that it would stretch with wear, so its better to go for tighter. As well as holding the straps up. It didn't take long for me to break in my bras, so to say.

I have been. I had thought I was a 34D but they measured me as a 32DDD. This was at a specialty boutique.
I guess they were right but their super expensive bras weren't very comfy. So I just go to VS with my knowledge and usually find what I need.
Right now at 10weeks pregnant I am busting out of my bras, I'm afraid to get fitted again, especially since I'm sure they're not done yet.

i have been a few times. honestly, even after being fitted i had to try a bunch on in each brand because they all run differently. also i hate things being tight so they always want me to go down band size and up cup size, but i'm not comfortable that way, so i don't. i think it's a good place to start, but nothing will replace actually going & spending some time trying on different bras.

I wore a 34C before pregnancy, went up to a 36DD during and have settled into what I thought was a 36D after. Im going to a specialty shop to get measured next week but I was sent a link on how to measure myself to get an idea and the measurements pegged me 34FF! WHAT?!

Im really curious how accurate that is and what the women next week will tell me. The guide (here: http://imgur.com/7Ss1170) from a subreddit full of women who swear it's super accurate measuring.

Have you ever been professionally fitted? What size were you before and after? If you measure yourself with the guide, let me know what size you wear and what measurement you got with it.
