I've been in the hospital more times than I care to remember. The most recent was when I had my gallbladder out in 2010 though (thank goodness!). I was in the hospital so much as a kid my mom used to joke about buying a room and renting it out when I wasn't there.

Split my lip open and had a seizure when I was a baby. And I was the victim of a hit and run when I was 9. So, mostly accidents over illness.

Yep. I had my tonsils removed and had to stay overnight. I've also been to the ER once. My mom worked at the hospital for awhile and I visited her a bunch. Most recently my husband had surgery. His doctor's office is in the hospital so we go frequently.

I've never stayed overnight until I had my LO. Spent 10 hours in the ER and Labor & Delivery when I was in a bad car accident around week 23 of my pregnancy!

I had daily seizures for a couple of years (anyone who doesn't know you sees, they call an ambulance, so I spent a LOT of time in ERs), and an anti-seizure med had me hospitalized for a month (most severe reaction to the stuff in over a decade), and then I had my first bout of amnesia.... That's on top of a breast cancer scare (just fibro-cystic breast disease, though they still insisted on a lumpectomy) and the couple of things that happened when I was little (cracked my skull on the basement floor, two eye surgeries, one hospitalization for diarrhea, and a few less memorable things.) I trusted doctors until the seizure med hospitalization, where they kept making me take stuff that it specifically said on my chart NOT to give me, and I was discharged purely because they thought one more pathogen would kill me (and that I was more likely to catch something there than in barracks.) I ended up with hemorrhaged eyes two days later, so I went to the ER for that, too, and Bell's Palsy the next week, which my mom dragged me in for (well, I couldn't close my left eye, so I suppose it was justified.)

ETA: Also was there when a friend died, visited my grandpa after his second heart attack. attended a friend's birth and went to some of her son's early appointments, and visited a few elderly relatives.

I've only been to visit or take other people. I value the service, but I hate going. It always means someone I care about is sick or hurt (or, in the case of birth, someone is being treated like they're sick). The monitors, needles, germs, cold rooms, the whole sterile inhuman atmosphere...*shudder*

Hmm...I nearly cut off my pinkie toe when I was about a year and a half old (and I remember it!) and had to be taken to the ER. Ditto when I was 7 or 8 and fractured my arm in the middle of the night.

I hung out in a hospital quite a bit when my stepmom worked in one.

I was there when my step-grandmother passed away, when my stepmother had kidney stones, visited when my SIL had her first child, and was in the delivery room when my stepsister gave birth.

When I lived in Philly I went a few times for lab work...getting STD testing and such (my OBGYN's office was right across the street from the hospital..)

We went to the hospital for our NT scan at 12 weeks, and for a tour of the maternity floor last weekend.

So a lot I guess!

Yup. Twice in college I had to take other people to the ER. I had to go to a hospital in London while I studied abroad because I was having chest pains and the ER was really the only option for a foreigner. And I was in the ER just a couple weeks ago with dehydration from the stomach flu.

i had a seizure in the middle of a business meeting and passed out. when i woke up, the paramedics were there and they took me to the hospital via ambulance. they did cat scans but never figured out what was wrong.

i was just working so hard and was so stressed out with high blood pressure i guess.

The first time I ever stepped foot in a hospital (post being born) was visiting my ex's SIL after she gave birth.

Since then (college), I've been a handful of times (once to take my mom in for a mammogram and a few others to visit DH's bf's babies).

Other than that, I've never been! I pass our hospital 1x a month now, since the Dr's office is right in front of it~
