I have complained at the movies before not necessarily because of loud people. I always complain during the movie.

Our theatre has security in the aisles at all times and they pull talkers immediately! I love it.
I'd at least turn to them and rudely be like "SHUUSH please, thank you!" But im super mature ;)

I would not have put up with your situation and would have complained to the manager right away. While the manager on duty may not be able to do much, they can give you a free ticket to watch the movie at another time. I was once seated under an ac vent and was uncomfortably cold. I didn't finish the movie, complained to the manager and received a free movie ticket.

Ew I would've flipped if their kid puked next to me. I'd complain and look for new seats (I'm a germaphobe and that would have been the deal breaker!)
Only time I complained is when we arrived about 5 minutes late they seated us in the wrong movie and then moved us again, we had to watch it backwards.

Thanks everyone!! At least I feel a certain vindication that complaining would have been warranted (and not earned me strange looks from management). Hopefully there's never a repeat incident!!

If you could have safely exited and complained and gotten them removed I would have. But now that the movie is over there isn't any sense is complaining. There is nothing the theatre can do at this point.

We did complain once because the speakers were blown and were all garble. They gave us two refund passes.

I would complain. Movies are expensive now a days, it's not fair that you pay it and can't watch. Next time I'd complain during the movie though in hopes you can get your seat moved or they get kicked out.

So annoying.... And gross.
I complained once when we had to endure the smell of vomit during an Omni theater movie. Got free tickets which was nice.

I would have complained as well. You never know what could happen. Worse thing is you waste 5 mins complaining.

Definitely complain! What's the worst that could happen? You waste 10 min of your time? Sounds like an awful experience and if they want you to return, they should offer an incentive. I'm still shocked about a 2 and 4 year old at Ironman. Personally it would be my nightmare bringing my 2 & 5 yr old to such a movie. Even a kids movie would be tough.

Ugh. I am so sorry you had such an awful experience. Yes, certain noise is to be expected with so many people in a room, but that is just disgusting & uncalled for. I definitely would have said something to both the people in the theater as well as the manager. Rustling of popcorn, a whisper here & there are one thing, but people acting a fool is another. They should stay home if they don't know how to behave.

Yeah. I would have complained. We were at a local theater one night and they forgot to turn the lights down. After the movie I asked an employee if that was policy (first time there) and he apologized and gave us free passes. I wasn't even asking for them, just wanted more info.

I'm so annoyed. Finally felt good enough to sit through a movie with DH at the theater (have been having third tri indigestion and general discomfort sitting ) and it got ruined by inconsiderate people. Scenario: local AMC is now reserved seats only. Meaning like a plane, you choose your seats and can only sit in assigned seats. There are TWO seats to my right. Empty until.... Of course... the movie begins. In marches a family of FOUR for the TWO seats. It takes literally 30 minutes for the parents to stfu as they scream to each other in outdoor voices. General chit chat.. Meanwhile 2/3 yr old is crying and 4 yr old fussing. Typically I'd be up at this point but chairs are recliners leaving you semi-trapped if not in aisle and I don't want to risk falling. this idiocy continues whole movie - loudness, crying, at one point a tantrum and puking in aisle. Yep. I tell DH we should complain but he said its a risk you take when you sit in a room with 50 people, there's certain to be idiots. I'm just so annoyed cause movie was ruined and now I'm upset that DH didn't back me up. He said I shouldn't waste my time complaining cause they'd look at me like I had three heads. Movie was iron man 3 .
Agh. Would u have complained after/during movie or just "dealt with it? I hate that due to fearing a fall in the dark I was essentially helpless.
