That's the worst! I haven't lost my voice as a parent, but I did lose it for an entire month when I first started teaching. An entire month of not being able to do anything beyond whisper....whilst teaching 6th grade in an inner city, rough school....that sucked. In the two years before having LO1 I lost it a few times. I assumed it was from getting older. Nothing since pregnancy though. </p> <p>My mom had bad sinus problems and lost her voice for a few weeks each winter. My brother and I took advantage of it until she had sinus surgery when we were 10 or so. My oldest (4yr) has been very concerned about it and is trying to take care of me by giving me coffee (haha!) and has also told me that she doesn't like it when I'm so quiet. My youngest only seemed concerned because I couldn't read her a book last night. </p> <p>It's been good and bad - I can't yell at DD1 when she's acting up, so it's actually forced me and her to listen more. </p> <p>Have you ever completely lost your voice as parent? How long did it take to come back? Did it help you or hurt you? </p>
