LO is intollerant to dairy and soy. I plan to trade him candy for toys or money. Then we don't have to worry as much about it. It is so hard with allergies and his are top 8.

@spaniellove: That stinks! It's sad to think of those kids (and you!) who can't eat most candies! I'll have to check when I shop. Maybe hard candies/lollipops are safer bets.

@JerricaBenton: Unfortunately, no - hydrogenated palm kernel oil is the 3rd ingredient. I actually bought a bag of Starburst, Skittles, and Life Savers Gummies without reading ingredients thinking it had to be safe and learned the hard way.

I never even considered allergies but I usually get one bag of fruity candy, like Starbursts. Are they palm free?

With my food allergies (peanuts, tree nuts, coconut, palm, chickpeas, it goes on...) I've realized that there are very few safe candies out there. Most chocolates/candies seem to contain or be contaminated with peanuts/tree nuts or palm! After a trick-or-treater last year waited until all his friends left and then asked me if I had anything without nuts because of his food allergies, I realized I shouldn't be a hypocrite. So when I went to Target for this year's Halloween candy I learned just how hard it is to find an entire bag free of major allergens! I finally found this bag, not the most exciting (I know I did not love these) but at least it works.
