@Ash: I'm sorry, it really stinks. Keep in mind it doesn't make a difference for every child. I teach student with behaviors and sensory needs and I always recommend diet changes first. Look at sugar and articfical coloring. People have gone to see herbalist and had a lot of luck but that was for adhd.

We will not give LO wheat. DH has been GF for 3 years. Wheat Belly is a good read on the subject. It mat seem hard at first but it's really easy. Corn pasta is awesome (we get it at Trader Joes) and lots of bakeries carry GF bread.

Yes and it made a big difference! Went from what I would consider defiant or dangerous behavior to "normal" sensory seeking.

Not to pile on with things to cut out, but you have tried eliminating artificial food dyes? DH had a sensitivity/allergy to them as a young kid and they made him totally crazy and out of control.

We have to cut out gluten due to LO's food allergies. It's not too difficult, and there are a lot of options available. LO's other allergies are more difficult to accommodate. My other LO eats limited amounts since it's just easier for me to cook for the whole family. I don't think it has contributed to better sleep or behavior though.

It was advised for us to cut gluten to help with ds' behaviors... poor sleep, anger etc. Has anyone tried this?
