It was an issue for me but not for him. He's always been the shortest of all his friends (at 5'7".. most of his friends are 5'10"-6'2" so he always stood out as short) and I've never seen any hint of short man syndrome from him. He grew up always being short so he's used to it, and he has always had a healthy self image. I freely wear heels now since we've been married almost 10 years... by this time in life I don't care anymore if I'm taller than him.
