Yes, and for us it was not at all dramatic. My 2.5 is still a great sleeper and such a bright, smiley little person thanks to being well- rested.

We did modified Ferber at 4 months and it has been life-changing so far. For example, last night I put LO down wide awake making hammy faces at me. By the time I went downstairs and turned on the monitor, he was asleep and slept straight through to his 4am feeding. Huge change from pre-sleep training where we needed to rock/bounce him only to have him wake up after one sleep cycle and not know how to go back to sleep.

No. I believe sleep is developmental and not something that requires training. I am vehemently against CIO so that was never on the table for us. I think there are instances where sleep training is needed to get baby the sleep he needs, but in general is overused and done for parent benefit.

Yep, at 3.5 months, 6 months and just this past week post-illnes at 10.5 months. Every time has been relatively painless and has resulted in extended periods of sleeping through the night. Zero regrets.

Yes. So much. We have done full on sleep training at least 3 times. Some nights still at 15 months she has to CIO. If we travel or she's sick she gets used to waking at night & wants to sleep in bed with me so when we are getting back into our routine we have to CIO. Thankfully she does understand when I say "Shh, night night" and will lay back down but she still cries as she falls back to sleep.

Nothing against it but I just can't do it! I wish I could. We sorta tried with LO1, but he was having problems vomiting often so we could let him cry long because he would vomit. And I liked rocking him to sleep cause DH would do the kitchen. Also we tried night weaning and after a week he was still waking up at night.

And lo2, no, not yet anyway. I don't know how lo1 would handle it. Although he did cry himself to sleep last night,,,,while DH was putting on his pajamas! Haha, I wish I could've seen it. DH said he was snoring as he pulled up his pants.

Kind of? We really just had to teach him how to fall asleep on his own (PARENTS OF NEWBORNS: TEACH THAT FROM THE BEGINNING WHILE THERE IS STILL TIME  haha). He was addicted to us bouncing him on the exercise ball for bedtimes and every MOTN wake-up. We did modified Ferber at about 6.5 months and it was life changing. His sleep got a million times better (he sleeps through the night now!) and he is a much happier baby for it. We are very pro-AP so I never thought we'd consider it but I'm so glad we did.

Yep occasionally we had to use it, but honestly she was a good sleeper. Now as a toddler, I'm about to break it out again, because her night time routine is awful (it's our fault too) but it's time to get back into her bed and falling asleep when we say!

Not really. We started pushing back night nursing after a year by having dh handle early wakeups. There is some crying, but he's comforting her and I go in if she's really upset.

Yep. We did a slightly modified ferber for both night and then naps. I really didn't want to but it got to the point where I was sitting up rocking her all. night. long. and after 5 nights I broke. It really sucked at bedtime for one night. And then on night 4(I think?) we had an awful night. But otherwise it was sort of magical. Naps were a bit harder. She really didn't cry that much but she would just roll around and not sleep and we had a 45 min time limit on naps before we gave up. It took a few weeks before she stopped skipping naps and we still have an occasional skipped nap but mostly it is so much better.
