My parents are super helpful and flexible when we are with them otherwise, so it was no shock that a week long vacation went great. My in laws...are generally unhelpful. I have and I would consider it again. We just went on a week vaca with my inlaws and SIL's (2). It was ok. It started out very rocky but ended up working out in the end. I guess I had pictured it differently/more fun/easier than it was. I would do them both again (probably will in the near future) but its much easier when we go with my husbands family My mother is a lot of things, and easy is not one of them and my husband and her butt heads a lot and its much more stressful as a whole. My in laws help a lot too in ways my mother cant and doesnt. It was good and bad. We vacationed with my dad in Thailand and we've done a few trips with my ILs in Europe. While it isn't always ideal, it's a good way to see them on neutral ground, so to speak. It was great.</p> <p>We went to Mexico with them this summer. They're fun and go with the flow, so it was no stress. I love that Sadie is getting that quality time with them (me too!). They love spending time with Sadie, so they offered to take her to dinner one night while Dan and I went to a fancier place--that was so nice! We also got to snorkel while Sadie played on the beach with my mom (she's not into snorkeling). </p> <p>We are already planning our Disney World trip for next year. They're excited to see Sadie experience Disney, and we get help. I would do it again in a second. She helped entertain her at the beach, in the condo while we cooked, stayed with her during nap time one day so DH and I could hang at the beach together, and then babysat at night so we could have a date night. </p>
