Of course my husband didn't get it either time.</p> <p>The first time, I got it so bad on the bottoms of my feet I could hardly walk. Luckily for me the blisters were only really bad on the bottoms of my feet for 2 days. Wearing really fluffy socks helped so it sort of dampened the pressure of walking. I also got it in my mouth. Lots of popsicles! And I stole my daughter's Orajel too.</p> <p>The second time I got it my doctor told me I had a variant of HFM, because I got it on my hands and feet but also all over my face, legs, arms, and torso. That time it was itchy! I took Benadryl to help sleep at night and I put ice on the really itchy spots. </p> <p>Both times I had it worse than my daughter. She seemed basically unfazed the second time, and the first time the only thing that seemed to bother her were sores in her mouth. I can't sleep, SO itchy!! So sorry you ladies had to go through this too. I guess I'm glad DS was spared the itchy/burning sores but damn does this suck as an adult! I just keep telling myself that each day that passes is one day closer to it being over. It. Was. Terrible. Holy shit the itchiness!!!! I bought all the creams and nothing helped. Plus my throat hurt so badly I couldn't eat for two days (on the plus side, hello pre pregnancy weight :wink: ). The itchiness only lasted maybe two days but then my hands and feet just hurt. Followed by peeling for like a month. Ugh, I'm so sorry you got it. It's really just bad. He said it was the worst sore throat he had ever had in his life. He wasn't able to eat for three days, even though he was starving. There were spots on his feet and hands, but that was nothing to his throat. I felt so terrible for him. I was reapplying it every hour! Cold water helped the most, but I couldn't keep my hands under the faucet all day long. I caught it from an unknown source this past June, I was 3 months pregnant at the time. It was literally the worst week of my life, I was in so much pain. We made a 2am trip to my hospitals OB triage ward, I was hurting so badly. Luckily it didn't reach my mouth, but the skin on both my hands and feet peeled off entirely for a month (I looked like a leper!) and eventually 5 of my finger nails fell off. My nails have just almost finished growing back, and my HFM was 3 months ago!</p> <p>It. Was. He didn't even seem bothered by it at all and I was DYING! The itchiness was HORRIBLE!!! And I forget if the pain was before or after, but I remember my fingers and toes hurting so bad. Walking around was so painful - it was that pins and needles feeling when your foot falls asleep and is waking back up, but it was constant! And then once the itchiness and the pain passes, the dots turn into blisters and start peeling. It's so gross. I remember running cold water and just keeping my hands in it for a long time to help with the itchiness. And using a cortisone ointment like it was going out of style!</p> <p>I was lucky though - I DIDN'T get it in my mouth, which I hear is the worst part. By Friday I had a fever and Saturday morning the spots started showing up on my hands. </p> <p>Ugh, I'm so miserable! Luckily I don't have any in my mouth (yet)....but I am soooo itchy! I'm sitting here with ice packs on my hands and feet.</p> <p>If you've had it, please share your experience! </p>
