I had a boob job about 15 years ago. Still goin strong with no issues! I had them done young (20) and had my son 3 years ago (32) and they still look great!

Had a nose job in high school for breathing issues.

I currently get Botox. I’ve had it done twice. Not sure if I will continue. I do like it but it’s expensive to keep up.

I had a breast lift earlier this year. I have wanted one since I was in my 20s after losing around 100 lbs in late high school. I decided to wait until after kids, and it was still something I really wanted. I am so happy with my decision. I struggled with the decision as I felt vain and that it shouldn't matter, but it has been a huge boost to my confidence.

I've also gotten botox a few times in low amounts, and will do so again. I love most of my wrinkles, but the elevens between my eyes make me look angry and I'd prefer to avoid that.

@periwinklebee: I wouldn’t spend too much time worrying about that- my boobs got so much bigger while I was pregnant and early nursing, and I nursed both kids for about 20 months, and they are roughly the same size as pre pregnancy. I have some very light stretch marks on them and they aren’t super perky but I’m also almost 38, so I wouldn’t expect to be bouncing around without a bra at this point anyway. I think it’s just luck.

If I hadn't gotten pregnant, I would've gotten botox. Probably will post-BFing at some point. I also want to do some skin treatments for sun/melasma spots. And some small spider veins on my upper leg. I'm on the fence with boobs. I was a smaller B pre-LO1 but they were at least perky. Post-LO1 they shrunk and just seemed sad. Victoria's Secret and their vanity sizing had me at a 32C which I questioned (despite the fit). I would like a bit fuller and perkier of a size but worry about having to replace them down the road.

I’ve had Botox three times and been really happy with the result. I go to a cosmetic dentist. She is just a great looking “regular” lady who has smooth skin and no eye/forehead wrinkles but you would never look at her and think “Botox!” I figure if she can do that to herself then sign me up! In my experience, people I know who’ve gone to medispas or plastics people for Botox look more “fake” which I guess is because that’s the look those providers prefer and are used to.

The person I see also told me that dentists study the muscles of the face extensively so it helps with their placement of the injections. I don’t know if that’s bs salesmanship or not, but in her case it has worked great.

I’m due to go again actually and I can tell because I’m starting to look angrier. That’s what I love about having it is my forehead just looks relaxed but it doesn’t look stiff or stretched I’d that makes sense.

@autumn865: nursing also made my breasts seem smaller or I guess more deflated. Its frustrating for me so I am endlessly looking for the perfect push-up bras and bathing suits but plastic surgery just isnt for me. A friend did it after having children and was super happy with the results

i had my nose and chin done in college. so long ago that all I can remember of it is, it wasn't a huge deal.

last year i went to the plastic surgery residents' clinic at our local teaching hospital to have my earring holes re-done and got deep into discussing botox/juvederm for under eye bags. I have very fair skin and not a ton of wrinkles, but puffy dark circles. the doc felt that injectables wouldn't solve it so I'd need actual surgery. and at this point the thought of going under and the risks involved seem not worth it.

when I am no longer pregnant I am going to look into laser/fraxel for dark spots and a general facial refresh.

@periwinklebee: my boobs were fine in between weaning my first lo and getting pregnant again. (I weaned at 22 months and my little was 32 months when I got pregnant again so there was some time in between.) They did get instantly ridiculous when I got pregnant again which I don't remember happening the first time so who knows how they'll fare this time 😂😭

@LCTBQE: probably. I've also heard sleeping on your side (face mashed into the pillow) is a contributor. But I think genetic skin type is probably the biggest factor. My husband doesn't really have wrinkles because he's brown and has a lot of melanin, haha. Sad for me. We're the same age, and I look significantly olde rnow.

@Anagram: ah, thanks for this info--I had NO idea what price ranges were, and my dermatologist is this insanely expensive fancy place in the Flatiron district and I know I wouldn't spend the money to get it done there. your before picture is like how I looked two years ago :meh: and your after picture looks so natural! I know you've posted before about your insomnia--do you think that's played a part in addition to the Sjogren's/motherhood? I'm certain that a lot of what contributed to my aging is sleep deprivation.

After on the left (obviously). I also have permanent dark circles, as you can see from this picture, and the dermatologist that did the botox said it’s from fat loss in the tear trough from aging. I am not a makeup person, so I am semi obsessed with watching YouTube videos of tear trough filler, but I am super afraid of that long needle and plus it’s more like 1k in cost.

Botox on the other hand, can be found for cheap and really isn’t painful. It just feels like a tiny stingy pinprick, but if a bikini wax is an 8 on the pain scale, botox is a 2.

@LCTBQE: I've heard it's expensive in my town, but I've never had it done here. But there was a thread about botox costs recently on my local FB mommy's group, and people were saying $500-800. That's very expensive for botox, unless maybe a person needs a ton.

For reference, I first had botox (twice) the year I turned 30 because I was developing crow's feet and was concerned. This was when I lived in Dallas, and I got a special at a med spa and paid $200 for 30ccs. Pretty hysterical because 8 years later, I look about 20 years older and have done nothing in the remaining years because of having kids and BFing, and general laziness. I also have Sjogren's, so my skin is *extremely* dry, and I have aged SO SO SO SO much. Most people my age have beginner wrinkles--mine are fully formed, serious wrinkles.

Anyway, when I was visiting my mom in Georgia this summer, I got botox again and it made a big difference, but it was only $200 for 60ccs (I needed more since I have more wrinkles now) and I just know myself well enough to know I'm not going to spend $800 of something ridiculous for the same amount of CCs here.

I'm about to go get varicose and spider vein surgery because I had *terrible* vascular problems during this last pregnancy. Very recently pp and think I will otherwise get my body back, but my face aged what feels like by about a decade in the past 2-3 years. I really want to get botox on my forehead at some point--I don't have cute aging Lauren Hutton style character-adding laugh lines, I just look old and sad for being mid-30s. This is pretty minor but I also got a few weird pigmented spots during each pregnancy and I'd like to get them zapped off.

@Anagram: how much is Botox? did you just go to your dermatologist? I'm such a babe in the woods with that kind of thing and none of my friends IRL have done it because they'll all single, childless, gorgeous, well rested, fully hydrated and take barre class gahhhhhhh

@skinnycow: totally, if you can afford to keep going every 3 months. I just can't ever commit to the maintenance, but I'm also not someone who has regular hair appointments or regular nail appointment, etc. The cost varies by location, but you can always look for a groupon and search the particular location/medspa for reviews.

It makes a difference though--I took pictures the last time had it done. I'll post it.

I had a tummy tuck 4 years ago. I don't remember the exact cost, insurance covered some of it because I had a large umbilical hernia that was repaired. I did it because I had a 3-4 finger diastasis that physical therapy/exercising wouldn't fix. Would I do it again? Probably, but I had gall bladder surgery 5 weeks after the tummy tuck that caused some complications so I don't have the best memories of the whole thing. The incision was also larger than I had expected and didn't get rid of all the stretch marks, but I had a lot of stretch marks! No lifting for 4-6 weeks and you walk bent over for at least a week. I won't lie, it was painful but I was a lot more comfortable after the first couple of days.

@Anagram: I agree with you that the fake look people notice is likely filler. You shouldn't be able to tell if someone has Botox because it doesn't change the structure of their face.

Since you have experience with Botox - do you think it's worth it? I've considered getting it in my forehead but can't commit.

I would do some kind of stretch marks laser thing today, if I had a ton of money laying around and weren't a big baby about pain. But everything I've read about includes pain, is $$$$, and requires several rounds to make a difference.

But yeah, my stomach is wrecked after having my 2nd kid--it was bad but not terrible after kid 1, but really just terrible after kid 2. The original stretch marks widened and then once the baby came out, they just became.....wrinkled. It's not fun. I actually prefer the bright red fresh marks that weren't wrinkled.

Anyway, I've had friends who have had nose jobs, all kinds of filler, botox is almost a given in my circle after 35, tummy tucks, and boobs. But these are all moms in my circle, so I wasn't there for the recovery process. Everyone seems to be happy. I saw before-and-after pics of the "mommy makeover" (tummy tuck and boobs) and this is a very thin friend who had a saggy, wrinkly tummy after kids and she looks fabulous now. She wears bikinis and you can't tell she ever had a surgery at all. I can tell she has fake boobs just because of the tops she can wear without a bra, but she didn't get huge, super fake looking ones. They are a normal size for her body, just more perky than real ones would be.

I've had friends get lip filler and I could tell instantly, before they even told me. I don't know much about lip filler---it always seems like it's too much. Are you required to use an entire syringe? Is it not an option to just get a tiny bit?

Botox is basically invisible. I've had it myself, 3 times, but I just never keep up with it. No one can tell I've had it, not even my husband. I never tell him, because he's "against it" and thinks it "looks fake", but yet he can't tell when I get it. It literally just keeps you from squinting in certain ways, but it doesn't change the look of your face at all.

The fake look so many people may be noticing is probably filler--people can get cheek filler, under eye filler, marionette line filler, lip filler. I'd imagine it has the potential to be too much.

I would like to get a tummy tuck after kids. I’m tiny everywhere else but have alittle loose skin on my tummy... I’m very insecure about this. DH says no and it looks fine but he doesn’t want to spend the money. I plan to get one in a few years after having babies.

@autumn865: I've been seriously considering it. I'm a small B and would prefer to be a solid C. My husband is all for it so long as it's something I want. I just got Lasik and we also just got a new bathroom & next up is the kitchen...so...the only thing stopping me is the pause/guilt of spending money on it when we're doing so many other things. I say, go for it!
Oh, a mom at my girls preschool had a augmentation and she said it was the best decision she ever made. They look natural and she said the recovery was very manageable, not bad at all.

I currently want to do some Botox on my forehead.

I wouldn’t rule out getting a breast augmentation but nothing larger than a C. But to be honest I’d be too chicken. I know too much medical stuff and I would totally freak myself out.

My sister had filler done in her lips and had a
reaction and it looks awful. So that really gave me pause.

I had breast augmentation done 10 years ago (pre-kids) as my 30th birthday present to myself. Basically my boobs had gotten smaller as I got older and lost some weight. I had gone from a solid B to a full A probably. I got implants to make me a full C.

I’ve had them almost 10 years and no problem at all with them.

I would actually like to get them taken out mainly because my body has changed in the last 10 years and 3 kids. Realistically I don’t have the same body shape I did back then. I really think I have permanently widened in the hip and rib cage area. I’d like them to be smaller.

My surgery 10 years ago cost me $4,000. At this point I’m waiting until my youngest is slightly older and doesn’t need for me to carry her as much.

Pain wise I don’t think it was horrible but my pain tolerance is kinda high. I’ve also had 3 c sections so I’m not fazed by the possibility of pain. There are pain meds to help and I know it will pass.

I would love a tummy tuck but I’m more scared of that because I think that recovery is harder.

Send me a message if you have any questions.

While my smaller/flatter boobs make me a little sad, I would love to have my tummy done. I am small/petite but I've never had a completely flat stomach and now i have diastasis recti so I always look pregnant. I really hate it, but I can't justify the cost. Also, I found out recently that DH has very strong anti-plastic surgery feelings. I have a couple friends who have started getting botox and one got her boobs done and he had really strong opinions about it, that I did not expect! Even if we did have the funds I think I would have an uphill battle trying to convince him that we should spent 10k on a tummy tuck.

I personally have not even though I would love to have my old boobs back (pancake boobs after nursing 2 kids is real...)! I am a huge wuss and I can barely survive any medically needed procedures (I have never had surgery) so I can never subject myself to it :silly:

I also lost the small boobs I had. I should have known this would happen when I noticed my mom bought a AA bra I had tried on back in 6th grade.

The thing that really bothers me now (and never did pre kids) is my inverted nipple. On my totally flat chest I think it looks like I had a mastectomy. You expect to see a breast but there’s just nothing. I’m also getting repeat yeast infections there for the past few months. I’m considering getting the inversion surgically addressed.

My SIL got a tummy tuck when she was done with her kids. It turned out well and she seems really happy.

@josina: I've gone from small perky boobs to no boobs at all! I feel like this is why i'm so motivated to stay fit. I would love the boobs i had while i was pregnant - i wish i took pictures to look back on. :silly:

Yes, i've considered a boob job and a tiny tummy tuck for that little bit of loose skin. But overall, i can't justify the cost. And if something were to happen while under the knife, i couldn't deal with the idea that people would know that was the cause.

I’m into a natural look and don’t plan on having any plastic surgery. I don’t want surgery unless it’s absolutely necessary nor do I want foreign substances in my body. If I had breast cancer, I’d totally get implants though. Overall, I’m happy with my body and don’t feel like it was ruined by a couple of pregnancies.

I have friends who have had breast reductions and tummy tucks. If it makes you feel confident then go for it. I personally don’t like the look of a face lift- or lots of Botox. People all look the same and just unnatural imo. I live in a really wealthy area and see lots of surgery/Botox once women hit mid 40s. I’m pretty close to 40 and am proud of my laugh lines. I also proudly tell everyone my age. No shame in that!
