My little sister had it a bunch of times growing up, and somehow I never caught it (I was one of 5 kids-- I'm sure my mom wasn't able to sanitize every single thing she touched!). My college roommate had it too, and I never got it then. I think I'm just really, really lucky though. I had a steady rotation of pink eye, ear infection, strep throat, & stomach bug for about 5-6 months. Since then I get sick maybe once every 3 years. I think my immune system just bulked up! Pink eye stinks because is so hard not to touch your eyes! It's nearly impossible for LOs. At school (daycare or preschool) we teachers would just sanitize the crap out of everything & get extra vigilant with kids' hand washing if there was an outbreak.
