I caught it off a shelter cat at work a few years ago, and ended up giving it to my cat, we were both so miserable! My husband quarantined us downstairs for a couple of weeks. I hate to waste the money on a doctor's visit just to have them say, "Yup, keep doing what you're doing..." It took awhile to go away even after the cream, a couple weeks maybe. If the cream doesn't work (didn't for me) I recommend hydrogen peroxide. Many times. I first thought it was just a normal rash or eczema outbreak, which I get occasionally. I had to go to the doctor for an unrelated thing a few weeks (maybe months?) later, and she barely glanced at it and was like "oh yeah, that's ringworm" and gave me an anti-fungal cream to use 2x/day. As I recall it never spread, and my spot probably cleared up within a week or two. Because I'm a dummy and had NO IDEA what it was. It took a long time to go away b/c i had it so bad. I needed pills and cream. It sucked so bad! Make sure you wash your bedding in hot water frequently. The spores can live up to 18 months. A blacklight will show you where the spores are, too, because they flouresce green. it itched like mad. It cleared up pretty quickly with the cream, if I remember right. Within a week or maybe two?</p> <p>Check out your pets for it. It was just that raised, round...spot.
