A few days before Christmas another one of their drivers threw my package over our back gate and onto the deck! It got stuck behind some furniture and luckily hubby spotted it while cleaning up for our party. Apparently, that was the safer place than ringing the doorbell and leaving it on the porch! A few months ago I had a package go *missing* (2 bottles of expensive gin!!) - the new driver ran out of time delivering them and it was still in the back of his van. I went for a drive to my mums house a few streets away, and Lo and Behold, found the driver on the side of the road unloading packages onto the nature strip to give to another driver to deliver. yeah, I went over and grabbed my package quick smart!! I always ring and make complaints or tween aus post because I'm a massive whinger! I guess the tracking is free, but the 3 times I've tried using it, all it does is "track" the package to whichever post office lost it, at which point they tell me to file a claim and I go home totally defeated and having wasted hours. I'm so glad they offer free tracking now though. I have an Etsy shop and about 70% of the time ship priority which has $50 insurance or more. I've had multiple items arrived damaged but have been lucky to not have any packages not arrive to a customer. I know my mother raised me not to use the word "hate", and I've had many great postmen over the years, but as an institution I fucking hate USPS. my most recent incident was sending my passport in for renewal which has every bit of sensitive information on earth in it, and it was "lost" at the Brooklyn post office. tracking info I paid for was useless, and you're not allowed to use UPS or FedEx or other competent senders for passport dealings. gah. I let the shop know and they sent me a new one, but I had to pay the shipping again. The first one never came, but the second one got here pretty quick. I also ordered a photo calendar for my mom this year. It was about 3 weeks late so I contacted the company. They sent me a new one for free... I got the second one, and then a few weeks later the first one showed up. They were supposed to arrive arround Christmas. They did not so I had the bank put a stop payment on them just after the new year started and they ordered me another set for free. The first set arrived today. Of course! Have you ever had anything lost on the mail and did it eventually show up?
