We stayed friends afterward, though, and I had hopes of eventually getting back together so when I found out he'd been dating someone else since shortly after our breakup but was too chicken to tell me about it, that was really rough.</p> <p>The second time, I never even dated the guy but I have never fallen so hard and so fast for someone before or since. When they say "love at first sight," this was it (but in retrospect, maybe more lust than love? Whatever it was, intense doesn't begin to describe it). Years ago I was completely in love with this guy. We had a very rocky on/off relationship because we were different ethnicities and his mom didn't approve of me and threatened to disown him if he was with me. We kept trying to stay away from each other but we couldn't. So we had a difficult relationship for years in secret from his family. Eventually he got into a semi-arranged relationship...but failed to tell me for several weeks.
