Not sure how sick he gets, but enough for a teen boy to give up steaks. I feel sorry for the poor kid because he used to love steak, but he knows it's better for him in the long run to just skip it. Fish, pork, chicken and beef all came back as low-moderate sensitivity. Granted I have not eaten meat since I was 12, which might affect it but I always remember as a kid not liking it and feeling sick after. (sick = throwing up) Not sure if it was a true allergy or not, but I developed an aversion and gave up pork and beef first at age 9, quickly followed by chicken. When her sons eat something like a piece of bacon and don't wash both their hands and faces after and kiss her she'll end up with lip-shaped welts on her cheeks! She likes to joke that if she has a terminal disease or knew for sure the world was ending she was going to eat as much of a big plate of bacon as she could as fast as she could. When I hear allergic I immediately think hives and swelling but this girl's reaction was not that. My friend is allergic to chicken. She gets stomach pains and troubles and vomits every single time she has it. Her doctor told her she's allergic based on the # of times she has gotten so very sick after eating it. It was even to the point that she ate pasta at my house that I had boiled in some chicken broth and she said she would be fine, but within minutes she was arched over in pain and eventually vomited.
