A few of my friends and I had gone skiing in Taos for New Year's Eve and we had a pretty bad car wreck in the snow, going up the mountain. My friends car was towed to a shop and the police gave us a ride to where we were staying.<br /> Two days later, when we needed to go check on the car, we decided to hitch a ride. Honestly, it was my idea, but I felt really lame standing on the side of the road with my thumb up. We got a ride, and although the guy was a little weird he didn't seem threatening at all. It was more embarrassing than scary. I had to park my car at golf course and walk up that hill and then to my place. It would have been a 3-4 mile walk. It would have taken me about 30 min to walk it. </p> <p>Anyway, I started walking up the hill and started getting out of breath. This road was closed but there were some AWD cars that found a way past the road blocks.</p> <p>This suburu saw me and asked me if I wanted a ride to the top. Luckily he had his daughter in the car so I agreed. And there was a woman in our town who didn't have a car, and her and her son would walk to town and my dad picked them up multiple times. But myself? On our honeymoon we had hiked across St.John VI &amp; had planned on taking a taxi back to the bay but once we reached the other side of the island there was NO ONE there. We hiked back across to the main road. As soon as we reached the top (I was about ready to pass out) there was a taxi giving a guided tour.
