I didn't feel comfortable with the one that is technically closer to us, but I LOVED the one a bit further away and we ended up choosing them. I also interviewed the midwifery practice before deciding to go with them for our birth. I interviewed a midwifery practice as well as two MDs before deciding on my provider for my first pregnancy. I'm soooo glad I did, because the midwifery was my first choice before the interview, but I did not click with them at all. I think it's ridiculous that some people think it's weird! These are huge life moments with a lot at stake. I'm not going to trust just anyone with my health, or the health of my babies. I interviewed my nephrologist and we had a consult with a ped before we chose to use her group! I highly recommend it. My OBGYN is great, but her back-ups are...not. The back up is who delivered C. I have consultation/Q&A appointments with two others and a midwifery practice before I decide on someone new! Am I crazy? We didn't interview our ped though. I knew him from work, and knew we'd totally click with him. He's great!
