She is only 18 months but no, I have never left her. I get paranoid even having to turn around and get a washcloth out of the drawer. Living in FL we have seen WAY too many kids drown.

I would super quick to get a towel or something (our house is tiny) but now that she is nearly three (two weeks away) she can be in the bath with one of us on the computer in the next room (seriously, only like 6 feet away) because she is very noisy and right there. And can nearly swim. I was a lifeguard for 10 years, I swear I'm not negligent, she's totally fine!

She usually bathes with her sister though, who at just one is not okay by herself so I'm pretty much always reading a book in there (or checking hellobee on the itouch...)

Nah...but I'm a worrier. I would do what Mrs. Bee does if I had to quickly.

A toddler, not really. To leave and grab a towel. But a 3 year old? I would certainly expect to be able to bathe alone.

I'll cop to very quickly running in and out of the room for something. But I am like lightning if I do it!

Yes. DS is 4 and our bathroom door is connected to the kitchen. I will let him take a bath while I cook dinner with the bathroom door open. He is in my line of sight the entire time and I can clearly hear him.

@Mrs. Bee: @prettylizy: that's what I used to do with my 3 and 4 to nanny kids! I had to rally four children so sometimes you gotta do it! I would ask them to tell me a story or sing a song until I came back ;)

Cobi is one and I will leave for 5 seconds if I forget a towel, so never long at all!

we never ever used to before olive was born, but now that charlie is older, we just tell him to sing so we can hear him and we'll leave him alone for a couple of seconds to do something quick like grab something from the kitchen (which is next to the bathroom).

She's 22 months old and can climb in and out of the tub, pour water on herself, etc :P
