@Smurfette: Oooh - there's a sam's near my work. I might check that out!

@jodyblair: @char54: That's always an option... I will be 7 months pregnant by the time we have the party and may not feel like actually making it.

If you want to be really lazy, I've bought the pillsbury tube of cookie dough and rolled it out to make a cookie cake before. Homemade is always better, but it works in a pinch :)

Yep! Just make a normal cookie recipe and watch when you cook it. Sams has a double layer one for $16 and it is so good!

Growing up I always had a giant cookie for my birthday. I think my mom just rolled pillsbury cookie dough out into the shape of a circle!

i use the tollhouse recipe (the one on the morsels package). you have to seriously reduce the cooking time for the "cookie bar variation". just keep an eye on it; i remove when it's golden brown on top.

I'm thinking of doing a milk and cookies party for DD's 2nd birthday and I really want to try to make a cookie cake. (I know, they're only $10 from the grocery store.....) But, I'd really like to try to make one. Any recipe I've tried never gets it good and gooey like the ones I see at the mall.
