Providing free or largely discounted procedures may be seen as coercion. Meaning that people only participate in the trial because they couldn't afford the procedure by themselves. I just had to drool (lol) into a vial every time I got my blood drawn during my IVF cycle so they could compare the results.</p> <p>I believe Jenn23 was in (or almost in) a clinical IVF trial. I'm actually a research coordinator now and enroll people in clinical trials. It was great. I got a free HPV vaccine, and free paps (granted, way more than I ever needed, but oh well) and paid $75 for each exam. They were trying to figure out the best drugs to ensure pregnancy without multiples. That would have covered 3 cycles of IUI at no cost (we only needed 1) and every so often we have a questionnaire about how L is doing developmentally.
