You can't play settlers 2 player out of the box - you need special rules, and it's a little silly. Carcassonne is the best ever two player game. I really like it too. Its a long game but you can play with just 2 people if you buy an expansion. Whenever it's my turn to pick a board game, that's my go-to! It's not long to play, only about an hour. I didn't think you could play with 2 players cause it involves trading and you just wouldn't trade with the other person. Maybe there are adaptations to the rules. At any rate, I highly recommend it!! @chanzi: you like a lot of the same games we do! Dominion is awesome and we can't get enough of Pandemic these days. It is a great cooperative game. Really good for families who need a break from being super competitive all the time. The two-player games we have are Carcassonne, Dominion, and Race for the Galaxy. Carcassonne is easier to figure out than the other two, but still quite fun.
