He passed out while my mom was birthing one of my sisters and had to be taken to the ER. Yes, once, when I was 13 and a volunteer at the hospital where my mom worked. I was considering being a doctor at that point, and it was a teaching hospital. A really sweet Mama let me watch. I was 2.5 for the first one so I don't really remember. I was 5 for the second and it was a home birth. While I remember standing in the doorway and watching, my Mom's labor notes say that I was very encouraging saying things like "You can do it Mommy!". When I was 12 my sister was born in the hospital and I remember being there but honestly don't remember the birth. I would really like to see anothe . I just love the moment when the new parents meet their baby! Especially when the dad tears up. And getting to be the first person to hold their LO was pretty neat too. For me it took away the fear of the pain. I should've watched "pitocine births with no pain meds"...
