I work with people who insist on coming to work when they are clearly ill and I like to take emergen-c to give myself a chance. So I will take emergen-c if I feel like I have a cold coming on. Once I'm really sick (and especially if I've been sick for two weeks!) I go to the doctor. The only thing that stops me from getting sicker is to be completely horizontal for at least an entire day/night, i.e. lots of rest. I've had a cough/phlegm, headache, runny nose, stuffy head, ear aches, and I haven't taken any meds other than advil for the headaches. I was going to go to the doctor if I didn't feel better by today because of the ear aches (Mr. Bee read that bronchitis can lead to ear infections).</p> <p>But I think it's finally starting to get a little bit better. I took some emergen-c for the first time yesterday, and i've been drinking tons of oj. Maybe that helped?</p> <p>Have you ever taken emergen-c? Does it help? What do you do when you have a bad cold? </p>
