Camping was pretty much a success! She slept great on the air mattress and was fun to hang with the rest of the weekend. We went with another family so she had other kids to play with and that helped as well.

The last night there were horrible thunderstorms and flash flooding, but she slept through all of it and we were okay. Our tent flooded overnight (we stayed dry because we were on top of an air mattress) but other than that we didn't have any major issues. Just got super wet packing up to leave. She also threw up on the way home, but she gets carsick sometimes and has been fine otherwise, so it wasn't a huge deal. The drive back was super slick and we kept hydroplaning, so I can see why she got nauseous from it.

@psw27: We're bringing an air mattress and planning to put her between us. I'm not sure how it will all work but I can report back afterwards!

No, but Hike it Baby looks awesome! Thanks for the info, I've never heard of this before. I can't imagine how we would get LO to sleep in a tent with us, he is a crib sleeper still. Any tips?

We went when he was 6 months. It was not terrible, but not great. The main problems were that we went with another family who had a 3 and 5 year old, so they ran around shrieking while he was napping, and we weren't prepared for how cold it would be at night, so there were a few hours of him sleeping really fitfully until we realized he was cold and brought him into the sleeping bag with us. I'd like to go again though!

We haven't yet and we've been debating if we should try this summer (he's 6 months now) or wait until next summer. Curious to see others experiences!

We've taken our son camping many times! His first time was when he was 8 months old. We love it and he's definitely a camping kid!

We are taking our 3.5 year old LO camping in a couple of weeks for the first time. I'm excited!

We joined Hike It Baby a few months ago and this is a camping trip planned by my local group. So, there will be a few other families camping with us as well.

Have you ever taken your LO camping? Any other Hike It Baby members here? I love the group!
