When DS was a month of two old I was pulling him from the carseat by the time my FIL came to a stop. I shouldn't have, but my new mom hormones, plus the worst dinner out with my in-laws ever had me in a really bad place.

I have never done it since, but I have certainly unbuckled myself to nurse him while he was still strapped in properly.

No, we just keep driving. She used to cry all the way home every day but she grew out of that phase.

Nope, but I've definitely unbuckled myself (not the driver) to pass her books, toys, or food.

And I once let DH drive across an empty parking lot while I was nursing her in my arms. EEK! Scariest 10 seconds of my life. haha

No, I generally just keep driving. She won't calm down in the car even if I stop. As soon as I get back into the drivers seat, she goes back to screaming.

I just do my best to get us home as quickly as possible.

Never. But once when we were stuck in traffic in the city, despite both of us telling her not to, my MIL took wagon jr. Out when he was crying. I was so pissed. I told her that if a police officer saw, they'd take the baby away.

No way. We've done a lot of pulling over..... or having the longest five minutes of our lives. But she stays strapped in there. I figure if she's crying its not life or death..... eve if she makes it sound that way.

No, I haven't. In the early days, when there was major fussing, we'd pull over.

No but I pulled over on the side of an exit road to feed her on the way back from my parents. It was one of those exits whee it says there is food or gas, you get off and the sign says 3 miles away. I just pulled to the side of the road that was a bit too busy for my liking but I couldn't wait another three miles with her wailing.

No! I would be way to afraid to ... I have too many friends that are pediatric emergency nurses and paramedics that share the most scary stories of improperly restrained babies/kids. It only takes a second for something tragic to happen.

No, but I did jump from the front seat to the back seat while my dad was driving down the freeway to feed my lo a bottle. I was so happy i took my hand pump on that 800mile journey haha!

I never have because I run the same scenario that @mrs.superhero described in my head and it freaks me out. I heard about a woman who unbuckled her own seatbelt for 2 seconds to reach over to grab a DVD from the backseat and then got sideswiped by another car. Everyone else in that car was fine but she ended up flying out of the car window because she wasn't buckled up. Literally in that split second she unbuckled her seat belt, they got hit by another car! You just NEVER know!!!

No, there's been plenty of news stories in my area of this happening + what should have been minor accidents turning fatal for the infant. Even when LO is crying hard, I know it's better to just stop driving and calm her. I can't get the worst case scenarios out of my head.
