I've had the gas before, but only during labour. It got a bit crazy there, very woozy drunk feeling. I was knocked out "twilight style" but I remember coming to one time, and they put a little nose mask on me. It smelled like berries. The only thing that sucked was after they shut the gas off when I was finished it was like a huuuuge emotional crash and I immediately felt very upset and started tearing up. It doesn't numb you, it just relaxes you a bit. I'm pretty sure it took a lot of the stress off (but it was still pretty stressful!!!)
