Everyone knows my current assignment is temporary and ending soon. There are no competition issues. </p> <p>(Also should add that I am a non-practicing lawyer with a professional job, and my credentials/resume are sound - that may make a difference because networking seems to be the name of the game (I am terrible at it!) and I do have the experience to back up my "warm call.")</p> <p>The reason I am hesitant to reach out is because my contacts are extremely high-level people in their organizations and I don't want to waste their time. He gave me the contact for his boss, and said I should send my resume in. As my time in this position winds down, I am thinking of ways to express my interest in these organizations and wonder if sending a note expressing my interest + attaching my resume is a good idea. Have you ever done this? What was the response?</p> <p>If you have ever received such a note, I would also be interested to hear how it was received. </p>
