We met on holiday in China and spent three and a half weeks travelling around the country together on our small group tour. I kept a very detailed travel journal on that trip (my entire 14 hr flight home was spent completing the journal) so in a way, it is the story of how we met and fell in love. And then I have all the immigration paperwork from our various immigration applications, all of which describe the minutiae of our relationship, complete with pictures, plane tickets, and various other memorabilia from our dating/engaged days... I love the idea of having it all in one place for future generations to look at. I wrote down our how-we-met/got together story once for a post on weddingbee and saved it on my email. We have "Our Love Story" with important dates on a chalkboard in our living room, that was from our wedding. DH and I's love story is also not so sweet. We met when I was in highschool at a party, drunk. I was actually dating his friend. Friend and I broke up, DH and I started dating. It was for a local magazine that wanted to spotlight our engagement and wedding photos. It was nice to sit down and write it all down. Plus I have it saved and am putting a copy in my little girl's baby book for her to have one day. My best friend also made a huge photo/scrap book with details of how we met, dated, and up until we got pregnant for her to have. It's priceless! Someone was writing a relationship book at our church and featured a different couple in each chapter. The author interviewed us and wrote our love story for the courtship chapter. The book was never published but it was a great memento and experience. This would be a good side business for someone! So...I decided to start writing out me and DH's love story - starting with the day we met.... not sure if I will end it or keep it open and add to it over the years I have pictures too - of where we met, our 1st and 2nd dates, first homes, etc.
