Toooo many times to count, then I can't understand when he gets frustrated at me for missing calls. Can you say double standard? :)

Drives me crazy when I cant get ahold of him for awhile. Especially when I find out he is HOME and hasnt been answering. He will be outside or something with the dogs or doing whatever and wont bring his cell (or has it on silent form work yet). Its frustrating to think we have a house phone, and a cell phone...why pay for these if you DONT use them!

I get upset but he's getting better. I dont' really care about not answering but he loses his phone all the time and we don't have a home phone so I want him to know where it is in case something happens and he has to call out quick. When my water broke we couldn't find the car keys. Now I have key hooks and have been adamant about them going back in their place but I haven't found a solution for the phone yet except to ask a lot.

It only bothers me if he is out with friends or at a bar or social get together with alcohol involved. Don't know why, but that's the only time it gets to me!

I don't yell but I definitely get upset! During pregnancy whenever he'd finally call or text back my passive aggressive approach was always to tell him I had the baby, we're in room xxx at the hospital, I named her (some name he had vetoed) and he could stop by whenever he had a moment. So I was pretty obnoxious too lol.

It drives me INSANE. I don't call DH frequently at all when he's at work (maybe once a week, if that), so it's not like I'm calling an unreasonable amount. When I can't reach DH on his cell phone I try his office phone. When he doesn't pick up either (and I know that he has access to one or both) I tend to get pretty angry.

I called him out on it recently and he's definitely gotten better (my main issue is when he doesn't call me to tell me he's going to be late getting home and then I can't properly make/time dinner. It's disrespectful). It also bothers me that, in the case of an emergency, especially now that I'm pregnant, I may not be able to reach him.

Oh wow. My DH always picks up his phone. If ever he doesn't I know he will call me back very shortly as he regularly checks his phone. I would never get mad with him as I know if he didn't pick up his phone there would be a reason and he would call me back ASAP.

Me on the other hand... I am simply terrible. I never know where my phone (usually never charged) is or pick it up. My DH knows just to email me to get a hold of me. I don't know how he puts up with me :-)

@mrs. wagon: oh heck no!!! I hate when guys do that. Like you said, if they set up a GRAND scheme, then you better execute and not disappoint because the disappointment is far more than just that!!!

My hubby does that ocassionally, but so do I so we're kind of even on that. =\ Thankfully, it's infrequent.

Not recently, but when we were still doing the international long distance thing there were times when we would have major fights because one or the other didn't answer when called. It was annoying because it was an international call!!

Yes, this is absolutely infuriating. He is horrible about answering his cell phone and it has been a cause of many fights. I've made myself calm down about it a bit because he has made a big effort to get better and I don't want to flip out if it wasn't an emergency, but I'm just waiting for the day when it is a real emergency and he doesn't answer..

@mediagirl: yes, thank you. It was SO embarassing. I was new (fresh out of college, literally, had just graduated a couple of months before!) and all my coworkers were older than me, so I was just trying to be cheerful and all "no thanks, I'm all set, have a great weekend with your kids!!" as each one walked by my desk to go home, but raging and crying on the inside as I picked up my phone to dial Wagon Sr. yet again!!! By the time we spoke and he found out I was in a cab, he ran downstairs with a $20 in his hand and by the time he got down there I was already there. Obviously he made up for it but I don't even remember.... ACK that was 9 years ago!!!

DH is awful about it! I always have mine on vibrate, but I check it frequently. Once his mom was admitted to the hospital with chest pains and we thought she was having a heart attack, he was out with the guys and wouldn't answer. I ripped him a new one after that! He got a little better, but still could use improvement in the phone answering dept!

@mediagirl: yep. a total classic example of Wagon Sr. trying to do something sweet and nice for me ("I'll drive you to work! bring you lunch! pick you up and we'll go out to dinner together!") with a horrible result where I am the loser. That cab ride cost more than $20 too!! Whenever I tell stories like these, people are like "oh but he's so sweet, how can you blame him?" and I'm like "I'd rather he NOT do this big grand gesture if he's gonna make a mistake and cause a headache!!"

I get furious. I just keep calling so that the # of missed calls that shows up on his phone when he FINALLY finds it and checks it is astronomically high and he feels really bad (and dreads my wrath when he calls me back).

Once, when we were dating, he had taken a day off from work so he drove me to my workplace (not public transportation accessible) and went back to my apartment (about a 15 min drive from my office). He decided to take a nap in the afternoon, and there was construction going on outside, so he put earplugs in and fell asleep. With his cell phone on vibrate. Across the room. It was a Friday afternoon and I kept calling and calling to see where he was (he was supposed to pick me up), and all my coworkers were leaving and asking me if I needed a ride home, and I said "no, my boyfriend's coming to pick me up".... finally at 6:30pm, the only one left in the office, I broke down and found a local cab company and took a cab home. He finally woke up and found his phone while I was on my way home. I think he had a total of 86 missed calls from me. Yeah, that fight lasted pretty much all weekend.

Yes! DH does this all the time! I got in a serious accident last year and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance but could not reach DH (who was at home!) and I was hysterical. I got ahold of my BILs and MIL and we all tried calling him with no luck. Finally, my MIL sent one of my BILs over to our place to get DH!

He was reformed for a bit but is back to his old ways of keeping his phone on silent or not checking it from time to time.

Must look into Bluetooth..
