I'm not looking forward to that stage. I know you're not supposed to use timeouts until 18 months, but it seems to be working for him. One night he had 4 timeouts in the space of 1.5 hours. But he gets it. He learned quickly that if he is naughty he gets a timeout. Today he grabbed my water glass and smashed it on the kitchen floor! Automatic timeout while I cleaned up the mess. She has a designated timeout spot and we set an egg timer for 2 minutes. </p> <p>It kills me every time we have to do a timeout because she's taken to crying and screaming, "Mommy, hug please," but I've had to become much stricter in these last few months.
