We talked to the dentist and it really won't impact teeth at all (unless they still using it when they are much older but that's a whole other issue.). And my 13 month old finds comfort at night in his binky. I see that he weaned himself from day use, and if he finds comfort-- I'm all for it! She's always had a strong need to suck and it kept us sane when she was tiny. I have to admit that I'm afraid that if I take it away she'll stop napping. But I'm not super concerned at the moment, she doesn't sleep all night with it in, so I doubt it's messing her teeth up. </p> <p>It's going by her third birthday though. </p> <p>Wonder Baby only needs it sometimes, so I'm trying to slowly wean her off it. My SIL weaned her kids off at 2 by snipping the tip of the pacifier - apparently it no longer gives them the satisfaction of sucking so they naturally wean themselves off it. Eventually it will stop having the sucking effect and they will lose interest. She really only uses it while falling asleep and when she wakes up in the middle of the night and cries a little I stick it back in and she goes back to sleep :-/. </p>
