<description>&#60;p&#62;I do this too! Some of the outer layers usually die off quickly (within a few days) so I end up changing the water and peeling those outer layers off.  (I agree - they definitely get stinky if you don't change the water)&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;They hold up okay as long as you use them within a week or so.
