I really messed up my back while trying to weigh (on a home scale) a heavy box. I could not get up. I was living in Korea at the time, so I was naturally directed to the local acupuncturist. That place had grandmas that were practically walking with their backs parallel to the ground (it was a farming town). </p> <p>By the end of the second session, I was convinced! It was a miracle! I had a 3rd session, but I canceled because it was so ridiculously painful and I was able to function, so it didn't make sense to continue. </p> <p>My treatment went something like this: Nurse tried to locate exactly where it was most painful. They cleaned the area and inserted a million needles. Then they burned some herbs and placed a round glass jar over it. Then they attached it to some sort of sucking machine. In other words, the million needles inserted in the area that hurt the most was now being pulled. It hurt like hell! I was put into a whole body water circulating blanket before I left. </p> <p>They told me to expect a fever when I got home. The first day, I think they missed the exact spot (more my fault). I barely had a fever. The next day, however, they hit it exactly. Omg, it hurt so bad! I got a fever after. I actually just got my BFP after 21 months of actively TTC &amp; 6 sessions of acupuncture. :happy: My acupuncturist specializes in fertility so most of my treatments are targeted in specific areas depending on where I am at in my cycle. My mom took me to her acupuncturist and literally and hour later it was like nothing ever happened. I always had back pain related to my scoliosis and I always feel better instantly after a session. I am a firm believer in acupuncture. The electro acupuncture was weird), I ended up dreading it, I spent many an appt crying on the table when she left the room. I would be covered in bruises after. I started it because of my fertility issues and see one who specializes in fertility. It hasn't gotten me pregnant, yet, but I am moving from IUIs to IVF, so there are other issues that's causing my infertility. I'm definitely a believer in acupuncture. I've had it done two more times in the past 10 years, and could really use some more as I've been getting migraines again lately.</p> <p>I've also had acupuncture for back pain, and ended up getting pregnant with Charlie while I was getting acupuncture (she specializes in fertility acupuncture and I had had two miscarriages so I wonder if it had an impact?).</p> <p>Needless to say I am a huge fan of acupuncture. It has worked wonders for me as well as other family members and friends.</p> <p>Have you ever tried it? For what purpose? </p>
