Not fun. </p> <p>We had those crazy house centipedes in VA. Gahhh those things are ugly, and huge! We also get lots of ladybugs. The other day, I killed a spider that had a body larger than a dime. And our backyard is home to lots of wasps. I'm scared crapless of spiders and NEVER thought I'd prefer them to other bugs. Then I met roaches. They crunch 10000x worse. They carry disease. If you kill a female roach and don't bleach the area the eggs can live on and hatch still. They are speedy as all getout. I just cannot handle them. Similar to your laundry story, when we lived in Brooklyn my husband brought our laundry up from the shared laundry room in the basement and we were pulling out sheets to make the bed when a GIANT cockroach scurried out from the pile of bedding. I see bugs I never thought existed, in places I would never guess. Cockroaches aren't just for dirty homes in this climate. I SEE THEM IN THE STREETS. In our garden too. They are just... everywhere. And when it rains they come into the house. Now that it's rainy season I'm back to seeing them a lot. Going to the bathroom at night 29384738 x (preg) terrifies me. Mostly I find them dead (pest control) but the other night I saw one scurry when I turned on the light to pee. Oh and how about their giant relative, the PALMETTO BUG. Size of a man's thumb, and just like a cockroach, but THEY CAN FLY. They somehow always manage to get in. Best place? I went to get fresh laundry from the dryer and as I go to take it out one crawls out of my underwear. It was in a row of apartments, but was a little bungalow kind of apartment that had a direct entrance on to the street, so the spiders went right in. All shapes and sizes, big and small. I got so good at killing spiders!
