I think the thicker dough kept them from getting too dried out too. We rolled it out with a rolling pin first and cut it with a cookie cutter. Then I put her hand in place and I pushed down on her hand to make sure it was even. I bought it at Hobby Lobby. You mold it like Play-Doh and then bake it in the oven to harden it. Then I painted them white, let them sit overnight, and painted the rest the next day. The black is just done with sharpie.
