I've had better experiences overall with doctors. Like you, this is the "net experience" (definitely a few bad experience but overall good).

I've had some good nurses here and there, but a larger percent were rude, telling me wrong things, or just lazy and not around to do their job. It sucks because when you get a GOOD nurse, you realize just how awful the others are.

I've had an equal number of really great and really terrible nurses. My plastic surgeon was a complete ass during my breast reconstruction. You'd think dealing with a cancer patient he'd have a better bedside manner but nope. He even said, "I'll make them look better than before" umm pretty sure is rather have my real boobs, thanks.

Both of my nurses for each labor were wonderful. This last one even stayed past her shift (by 30 mins, but still!) so she could help me push and see baby born :) I also love love love my OB. I almost wish I was having more kids just so she could deliver them.

Its a mixed bag with both, just like any profession. I work alongside both, and there are definitely, ahem, "personalities" in the mix in both professions :silly: There are also a lot of incredibly kind, caring, and giving people in there too.

I have had almost all positive experiences, personally. I did have one postpartum nurse who sort of channeled Nene Leakes.

When I had my DD i had a wonderful experience with my night nurses. I did not have a good experience with my doctors and nurses.

When I had my first surgery back in 2006 I had a great experience with my surgeon, doctor and nurses.

I've had a range of experiences with both doctors and nurses, but I realized today that I've almost never had a positive experience with a nurse.!

Actually Bee had one nice nurse with our second child, but the labor nurse for our first child was just awful. The same goes for when family members were in the hospital facing serious illnesses.

I've had a bunch of great experiences with doctors though (bad ones too, but net net it's been positive). Was a bit surprised to realize that; you always hear that nurses are nice to you but doctors are brusque or arrogant, but for me the opposite has been true! Maybe I've just had bad luck with nurses though.
